She is accused of stealing a piece of computer equipment from Bay City City Hall and her neighbor's lawn furniture.

It doesn't appear the alleged crimes are connected, other than the accused in the case is Jennifer Gradowski, a long-time Essexviile City Council member.

We did speak with a woman who says she has been the target of harassment by Gradowski.

Jennifer Gradowski was first elected as Essexville City Council member in 2010, and the city's website says she is now Mayor Pro Tem.

Gradowski was arraigned late last month on two counts of larceny less than $200 in two separate cases, both 93-day misdemeanors.

The Bay City Public Safety Department confirms the first complaint stems from an incident where a computer mouse came up missing inside Bay City Hall Chambers in May.

Police say surveillance video indicates it was Gradowski who walked into the chambers when the city commission was not in session and took the piece of computer equipment.

The other case involves an accusation that Gradowski stole two lawn chairs from a neighbor in this Essexville neighborhood.

The alleged victim in the case told ABC 12 News she has been the target of harassment by Gradowski since 2012. She says Gradowski has called police and city officials, saying the woman and her family have violated city ordinances. Claims the woman denies it.

"The city of Essexville is aware of the situation, but other than that, at this point and time, we have no official comment," says Craig Goulet, city manager of Essexville.

The city council's next meeting is Tuesday night.

"Nothing officially on the agenda regarding the situation,” Goulet says, referring to the charges against Gradowski. “The agendas went out late last week, and so I can tell you I don't know what is going to be discussed at the meeting, but I can tell you nothing about it is on the agenda.”

We could not reach Gradowski for comment. Court records indicate she did have a prior retail fraud conviction in Bay County in 2002.
